We’re happy to have Shelli Markee back as our featured artist in January! Shelli is the talented creator of the head-turning wire birds that are floating through the ether of Click!’s upper walls.

Shelli will be bring new work, including small wire drawings that are backed with wood and framed as small vignettes.  We are also giving her the display room to fill with an installation of her linear, feathered friends, so be sure to check out our window display mid-week to see the transformation!

The “do good” part of the evening involves a visit from Arts Corps. Click! will donate 10% of all sales during Art Walk to this fabulous local non-profit organization that brings art education and opportunity to youth who might otherwise not have access. Arts Corps will have volunteers on hand to tell us about their programs, give out information and accept donations. Several other West Seattle businesses will have a charitable component to their evening; please see the Art Walk blog and Facebook page for more details.

Tonight during West Seattle Art Walk and Shop Late Thursdays, Mashiko is rolling out some happy hour specials. If you make a purchase at Click! tonight, show your receipt at Mashiko (paper or smart phone if we email your receipt to you) and receive a complimentary order of edamame!

Sample! Snack on holiday bites by Kim O’Donnel, local author of “The Meatlover’s Meatless Cookbook”. Rumor has it Kim is working on a new book about meatless holiday recipes and may have some ideas for your holiday meals.

Trunk show! Meet the folks from Seattle’s own Alchemy Goods. Expect to see the full line of these sweet messenger bags, handbags, wallets, belts and more, all made of “upcycled” bicycle tire inner tubes that in a previous life may have rolled down your street.

Artwalk! Most participating businesses will be collecting for various charitable organizations this night. Click! will be supporting Arts Corps.
Sample! Jams, jellies and preserves oh my!: a tasting of creative locally made (and grown) fruit concoctions with award winning preservist, Rebecca Staffel, proprietress and Taster in Chief of Deluxe Foods.

Trunk show! The amazing Erica Gordon of Steel Toe Studios will dress you up with her hand-dyed leather belts and hand forged/welded/fabricated steel, brass, and copper belt buckles, straight outta Georgetown.

Fisherman’s Bay

In the new “Cartography Series”, Rachel still uses maps to reference place and incorporate texture into her paintings. But she has added the graphic imagery of landscapes seen from high altitude, to give the work more abstraction than in her previous paintings. The results are wonderful.

Mark your calendars for a pre-Artwalk Reception. Rachel will be at Click! from 2 to 5pm this Saturday November 5th, to chat and answer questions about the “Cartography Series”.

Of course there will be sips and snacks!

Fe is the symbol for iron, the element at the heart of her steel collection. Sarah’s clean, angular forms are cut and folded from mild steel to create light, faceted structures. Some of these edgy steel jewels have the addition of 18k gold to starkly contrast with the steel; others are studded with punchy colors of glass beads: aqua, orange, and magenta.
