We’re happy to have Shelli Markee back as our featured artist in January! Shelli is the talented creator of the head-turning wire birds that are floating through the ether of Click!’s upper walls.

Shelli will be bring new work, including small wire drawings that are backed with wood and framed as small vignettes. We are also giving her the display room to fill with an installation of her linear, feathered friends, so be sure to check out our window display mid-week to see the transformation!

Our rockstar Shop Late Thursday lineup continues with a trunk show featuring the one and only Erica Gordon, the wonderwoman behind Steel Toe Studios. She’ll be bringing a full collection of her buckles and belts, each and every one of them handmade in her badass Georgetown studio.

The party starts early — at four pm — and the first ten people to walk through the door and purchase a belt & buckle will receive a free bottle opener, fabricated from recycled bike gears (a $25 value). Duck out of work early and get rewarded!

Erica’s belts and buckles are a customer favorite, and a great gift for both girls and guys. (Can you say unisexy?) Many of her buckles are fabricated from recycled bike parts from local shops, which makes a perfect gift for that special bike nerd in your life.

The “taste good” part is a visit by Rebecca Staffel, proprietess of Deluxe Foods. Wow! She recently visited Click! on her way to help with the grape harvest for an upcoming jelly she was creating. A few tastes later, we were convinced, and Click! now carries a selection of her beautiful jars of taste sensational fruit concoctions that you can sample Thursday night. Rebecca has also promised to to bring a small collection of brand new cocktail syrups – pour into a glass of sparkling wine or water and you’ve got instant “festive beverage” and who doesn’t need that right about now?

The “do good” part of the evening involves a visit from Arts Corps. Click! will donate 10% of all sales during Art Walk to this fabulous local non-profit organization that brings art education and opportunity to youth who might otherwise not have access. Arts Corps will have volunteers on hand to tell us about their programs, give out information and accept donations. Several other West Seattle businesses will have a charitable component to their evening; please see the Art Walk blog and Facebook page for more details.

Brett from Alchemy Goods will be joining us at Click! for Shop Late Thursday, December 1st from 6 to 9pm. He has assured us that he’ll have plenty of bags that you haven’t yet seen at Click! and of course all the favorites.

In AG’s SODO studio this means upcycling used bike tire inner tubes for a second go ’round as great looking handbags, wallets, laptop bags, backpacks and more. Although this time of year, their greatest feature may be that they are a great gift for both guys and gals!

Hailing from Washington DC and Alki, Click! has the pleasure of welcoming Dawn Benedetto, jeweler genius of Poppi fame and Kim O’Donnell, the one woman powerhouse author of the “The Meat Lover’s Meatless Cookbook”, for an evening of awesomeness at our second Shop Late Thursday event.

Sustainable sushi at Mashiko

If there’s one thing we like as much as good design, it’s good sushi. Fortunately, we’re lucky enough to be right down the block from the best sushi in Seattle, Mashiko restaurant.

Tonight during West Seattle Art Walk and Shop Late Thursdays, Mashiko is rolling out some happy hour specials. If you make a purchase at Click! tonight, show your receipt at Mashiko (paper or smart phone if we email your receipt to you) and receive a complimentary order of edamame!

This should be a great night to spend in West Seattle with so many of the shops open late and what promises to be a particularly good Art Walk. Shopping + Art + Sushi = Love.

Trunk show! Dawn Benedetto’s Poppi rings are the perfect holiday party accessory, and their one-size-fits-most style makes them the perfect gift. Meet the maker: Dawn is flying out from DC with her full jewelry line and an infectious laugh that will make this a very fun evening.
Sample! Snack on holiday bites by Kim O’Donnel, local author of “The Meatlover’s Meatless Cookbook”. Rumor has it Kim is working on a new book about meatless holiday recipes and may have some ideas for your holiday meals.

Trunk show! Meet the folks from Seattle’s own Alchemy Goods. Expect to see the full line of these sweet messenger bags, handbags, wallets, belts and more, all made of “upcycled” bicycle tire inner tubes that in a previous life may have rolled down your street.

Artwalk! Most participating businesses will be collecting for various charitable organizations this night. Click! will be supporting Arts Corps.

Very many of you have admired and/or purchased Rachel’s engaging work in the 2 years we’ve featured her at Click! We are so happy to represent an artist whose work continues to change in such a thoughtful and graceful trajectory. We hope you will take the opportunity to meet Rachel and see how her work continues to evolve.

Fisherman’s Bay

In the new “Cartography Series”, Rachel still uses maps to reference place and incorporate texture into her paintings. But she has added the graphic imagery of landscapes seen from high altitude, to give the work more abstraction than in her previous paintings. The results are wonderful.

Seattle

Mark your calendars for a pre-Artwalk Reception. Rachel will be at Click! from 2 to 5pm this Saturday November 5th, to chat and answer questions about the “Cartography Series”.

Of course there will be sips and snacks!
